While "Charles" has a threaded cap, he does not have a threaded post, but because he has such good manners, he will arrive with a complimentary hand-carved pen rest to prevent him from rolling on your desk if you need to set him down while writing. One of the advantages of a "topless" pen is its shorter length allows the writer greater freedom in choosing the angle of the pen and allows finer adjustments in the ink flow.
